Like them both but I had never considered ditching my entire Nikon 'affiliation' to fully commit to the OM system.Until now that is. I should have added that I'm heavily invested in Nikon glass (AF-D with some Ai-S sprinkled in) and in the Nikon eco-system in general, whereas my OM2n purchase was more of a 'spur of the moment' thing and I only have two small primes for the system, a Zuiko OM 28 f/2.8 and a 50 f/1.8. Thank you very much for some great replies so far. People who own(ed) or handled an F2/FE/FM/FM2s and Oly OM cameras, any thoughts/suggestions? So based on the above, would I like an FM/FM2? Does it have the smallish viewfinder image of the FE? How about the mechanics? Does it feel smooth in operation? As an alternative, shall I completely forget about small size and weight requirements and go for an F2 with the small, non-metering prism? Loud metallic, springy "CLANG" when pressing the shutter. cheap and unrefined compared to the OM2n. So now I'm interested in getting a fully mechanic camera by Nikon. Refined feel to the mechanics (film advancement, shutter, etc). Having decided I wanted to try a smaller, (semi)mechanical SLR, I then 'betrayed' the brand and got myself an Olympus OM2n. Big fan of Nikon for many years - I started in photography with their 1990s black plasticky electronic SLRs - think N90s, F801s, that generation there.
